Brendon McCullum and Dwayne Smith: Their partnerships are always a boost for the Gujarat Lions. In this 10th edition of IPL, Gujarat Lions experimenting so much in the opening slot but no any pair better than these two for the Lions.

Suresh Raina, Aaron Finch, Dinesh Karthik and Ishan Kishan: Aaron Finch will be back in the team to replace Jason Roy. In the previous game against Mumbai Indians, he didn’t play due to his kit bag lost.

The captain Suresh Raina is a little bit inconsistent in this season. But he is always a key player in any Twenty-20 match. He is also known as Mr. IPL.

Dinesh Karthik batted superbly in the last match. So his form is a boost for the Lions. The young Ishan Kishan is still unable to impress with his batting performance so far.

Ravindra Jadeja and Basil Thampy: Jadeja is not performing so far, but his role against the Royal Challengers Bangalore will be very important. While Thampy is going well so far and improve himself match by match.

Shadab Jakati: The Lions will go with Jakati in place of Munaf Patel, whose comeback performance was not good against Mumbai Indians. The second reason is that AB de Villiers has been always uncomfortable against left arm spinners. So for that he will add in the playing XI.

Andrew Tye and Praveen Kumar: Andrew Tye played only two matches so far, but performed really well. He picked hat-trick in his first game. While on the other side, Praveen Kumar is a little bit inconsistent. But due to his swing bowling, he will be in the playing XI.
